E visa in India is only acceptable for five categories that are, e-Tourist, e-Business, e-conference, e-Medical, and e-Medical Attendant. A tourist visa in India is valid for the duration of 365 days from the date of the grant of Electronic travel authorization. Out of those 365 days, you can stay for 90 days continuously but that limit should not be exceeded, except for few countries like the USA, UK, Canada, and Japan. - The most important thing for getting an e-visa is a passport, every individual should have a separate passport. If you are looking to get a visa on the basis of your parent’s or spouse’s passport then you are not eligible, a passport is mandatory for all.

And it should have at least two blank pages for stamping by the immigration officer if you are not a frequent traveler that should not be a problem.
- Having a regular citizen passport is a must while you want a visa. In case if you have a diplomatic or official passport, you won’t be counted as an eligible one however, you can apply for a diplomat visa.
